Colour & movement

A white base with grey-to-dark linear veining and natural movement. Ask for daylight images of the exact batch. Dry and wet views help compare the base shade and pattern, but the finished appearance depends on polishing and lighting.

Slab size & thickness

Confirm measured dimensions and thickness for each selection. Supplier listings vary; no one size is promised here. Have your installer check that the stone suits the floor build-up or wall fixing.

Finish & application

Discuss polished or honed surfaces and where the marble will be used. Wet-area slip resistance, stain exposure and acid sensitivity matter when choosing a finish and maintenance plan.

Your slab inspection checklist.

Compare shade and pattern across the complete selected batch.
Record dimensions, thickness, slab count and usable area.
Review natural features, cracks, chips, repairs or filling with the supplier.
Agree which batch is reserved, how it is labelled and how it will be packed.
Confirm cutting, polishing, transport, unloading and installation responsibilities.

Use a stone-safe neutral cleaner, wipe spills promptly and avoid vinegar or acidic descalers. Discuss sealing with a stone professional; it does not prevent all staining or acid etching.
